I began my career as a building surveyor in Oxford after completing my BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying at South Bank University. I initially worked at Sidleys, where I qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) in 1994, before moving to Carter Jonas in Oxford. My work there involved architectural design and project management for the refurbishment of country houses, private schools, and Oxford University college buildings.
In 1998, I returned to my home county of Devon and joined Monk and Partners in Plymouth, becoming a Director in 2001. My role covered the full spectrum of building surveying services, including design and project management, building surveys for residential and commercial properties, dilapidations, party wall matters, and boundary disputes.
In 2008, I founded Speed Surveyors Ltd to provide professional, qualified building surveying services throughout South Devon and across Devon and Cornwall.
